Hej 🙂 My name is Aistė (yes, it is a dot, and not an accent :P). And I am addicted to dancing…
I was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, twenty-smth years ago, and that’s where I steped my first steps in dancing. At the age of 7 or 8 my parents brought me to the folk dance classes… And I quited them in a year or two… Because it wasn’t cool enough for me at that time…
I was busy with different kind of activities for 10 years… and then it hit me… I got back to dancing standard and latin dances at my university’s dance club. The very first steps of salsa, waltz, tango, cha-cha… The very first emotional experience of dancing rumba (thanks to my amazing dance partner, with whom I was feeling extremely comfortable and safe to experiment)
A couple years later in 2011 I moved to Aalborg, Denmark, where I currently reside. While living here I started dancing bachata and I think I found something that I call ‘a dance of my life’. It’s been two years that I am dancing it and it is still full of possibilities, learning options, seeing the development of dance and interests. <3 At the moment (in 2016) I still live in Denmark, started teaching bachata, working on getting more people into dancing with my yet another project “Aalborg Goes Sensual“. Life is better dancing!
So my story of falling in love with dancing bachata didn’t start from very first step, but the way I walked to get there was totally worth going.
This blog is dedicated to this passion of my life – bachata – and the things that I find important and interesting to know for someone who loves to dance.
